Association of Multicultural Members
AMMP, the Association of Multicultural Members of Partners HealthCare, serves our large and diverse employee population. The AMMP mission states their commitment to the recruitment, retention, and development of minority professionals at all Partners HealthCare organizations. In addition to monthly lunch-time meetings featuring speakers and networking opportunities, AMMP sponsors a competitive scholarship program as a way of encouraging employees to explore new careers in pursuit of their dreams.
Partners HealthCare is committed to being at the forefront of disability advocacy in both health care and the community. Partners’ goal is to continuously improve the overall experience for patients, family members, staff, volunteers, and visitors with disabilities who may require assistance with access or accommodations throughout the Partners HealthCare System. Partners Continuing Care
Massachusetts Rehabilitation Council
Partners HealthCare is a member of the Greater Boston Employer Advisory Board (GBEAB). Partners has a commitment to assist the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Council (MRC) in accomplishing its mission of helping persons with disabilities to go to work. In partnership with the MRC, GBEAB members successfully model ways in which other employers, often reticent to hire people with disabilities, can learn to successfully employ, and if necessary, accommodate highly skilled persons who happen to have a disability.
Supplier Diversity Program
The Minority Business Development Program or Supplier Diversity Program was created in 2004 and designed to enhance the diversity of the supplier base while maintaining ongoing quality patient care, research, education, and financial initiatives. Developed through the Materials Management Department, the Minority Business Development Program seeks to extend the PHS mission of community outreach and cultural inclusion to an increasingly more diverse group of business partners.
Partners HealthCare received a 2014 Excellence Award for Supplier Diversity from VHA Inc. for its commitment to supplier diversity through the economic development of minority, women, and veteran owned business enterprises in the local community.
YMCA Achievers Program
Partners HealthCare is proud to support the Greater Boston YMCA Achievers Program, which recognizes the professional and community-based achievements of African American, Hispanic/Latino and South Asian men and women throughout the Boston area.
To be honored with a YMCA Achievers Award, individuals must:
- Demonstrate a history of professional achievement, as well as the potential for future development
- Agree to commit to at least 40 hours of community service to benefit the area’s minority youth
Each year, employees from Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, and Partners Corporate are selected as YMCA Achievers. Nominated by their colleagues and peers, all YMCA Achievers are honored at a YMCA Achievers Recognition Awards Gala in Boston.
